Dave seals the 2011 BTRA
Championship in flying fashion!
This weekend saw the heavy weights of the racing world have their final races of the season at the famous Brands Hatch circuit in Kent. With ever changing weather conditions and an ever changing track Dave was in flying form to seal an unassailable lead in the 2011 Championship. Qualifying on the front row for two races and on the second row for another, he was in fighting form!
With an ever increasingly slippery track Dave drove his MAN stallion to perfection in the races with only the flying Matt Summerfield being able to pull away. With two second places and a fourth Dave has well and truly secured the 2011 title.
Dave would like to express a huge thank you to members of his family, friends, members of the team and all his sponsors for their support in being able to give him a fantastic season. Thanks to their help and dedication he achieved the top spot....

Last weekend the
tranquillity on Anglesey was shattered by the sounds of thunder...
This weekend just gone Dave and his title rival and colleague Ricky Collett were at the picturesque track on Anglesey for a truck racing demonstration at the Modified Live event. Both Dave and Rick delighted the crowd with some 1000bhp sideways actions. Go HERE to view the photos of Dave out on the track.
17th August
Last weekend it was time
for Dave to mount up and race with the Thunder Gods at Thruxton with rounds 7, 8
& 9 taking place of the BTRA Championship!
Dave's weekend was off to flying start by out qualifying all his rivals, especially Ricky Collett who qualified in second with a resurgent Terry Gibbon in third. In the first race on the Saturday Dave ran off into the distance and left his rivals in his wake! This win also put him in pole position for the first race on Sunday.
The first of the Sunday races was another win for Dave as he again ran away to commanding lead. This put him in a very strong position for the last race of the day. As he climbed aboard his MAN race truck Dave was highly confident of a win. Although sadly this was not the case...
At the start of the race Terry Gibbon managed to get the drop on Dave at the start and managed to squeeze into the lead with Dave shadowing his every move and was not going to loose this position with out a fight. In true clash of the titans form Dave went for the outside move on Terry at the notorious Club Chicane and edge ahead. Terry Was not going to give up the position without a fight and contact ensued but Dave managed to keep the lead until the exit of the Chicane where he had a BIG case of over-steer and he had no choice but escape through the pit lane!! This dropped Dave to third place and there he remained despite a valiant fight back...
All in all a good weekend for Dave and the team. He is now 18 point clear of his arch nemesis Ricky Collett!
Next it
is on to Pembrey in August for the next round!

11th July
Over the weekend of the 9th July 2011 Dave stepped into battle in a
true clash of the titans at the legendary Nürburgring!
Competing in the Mittelrhein Cup with some of the best truck racers in Europe,
with the BTRA Championship Races forming part of Mittelrhein Cup.
Having qualified fifth on the grid for the first race over the weekend, Dave was promoted to the front row due to technical infringements by other drivers. Dave then proceeded to make a flying start hounding the Iveco of German; Gerd Korber. Although staying on Gerd's heels all the way through the race he could not secure second but they both had no answer to the flying Mat Summerfield who came through to win. With Dave securing third in the Mittelrhein Cup race and more importantly first and the fastest lap in the BTRA Championship race!!
Sundays race was a different story... With the heavens opening up everyone lined up on the grid on an atrociously wet track! Dave causing mayhem at the first corner by spinning! He had to sit there while everyone came through. This done he then got the hammer down and took off in pursuit off the leaders in probably the best drive by anyone over the weekend to claw his way up to second and securing yet another fastest lap in only 5 laps in the BTRA Championship race! All this was done in the pouring rain on a wet track, a true testament to Dave's driving skills! But that was when the race was cut short and stopped due to an incident on the same lap. This sadly deprived Dave of climbing even further up the order!
Overall Dave had a very successful weekend taking first and second as well setting the two fastest laps in the BTRA Championship races! He is now a good 14 points clear of his title rival Ricky Collett!
Dave is now concentrating on preparing the race truck for the next round of the BTRA Championship at Thruxton in August.
11th March
Clean sweep at Pembrey
keep Dave at the top of the title race!
This weekend in glorious weather and in front of a large crowd Dave was in fighting spirit as the Welsh track was the setting for the next rounds of the BTRA Championship. Ready to take hold of the racing and stamp his authority all over the this outing. Dave's weekend kicked off with him continuously out pacing Ricky Collett and also in grabbing pole for the first race. Over the weekend this became more apparent as he left Ricky Collett in his wake to take all race wins in the qualifying and championship races. He also secured maximum points by setting the fastest laps in both points scoring races!
Dave came away from the weekend in full of confidence and in fighting form for the next rounds at the legendary Nürburgring in Germany!
27th March
Dave takes back to back
victories at Brands!
Brands Hatch
reverberated to the roar of the titans of motorsport this weekend gone as the
opening rounds of the 2011 BTRA Championship took place.
Dave was in fighting form over the weekend and he had to be to keep a hard charging Richard Collett at bay. Dave secured pole in both qualification races and went on to win both championship races. In the first championship race he got fastest lap but unfortunately a flying Collett took the fastest lap in the last race denying Dave a clean sweep. Dave now leads the championship by 2 points from Richard Collett.
On to Pembrey for rounds 3 & 4 over the weekend of the 9th & 10th April.
